Ouagadougou: The Minister of State, Minister of Agriculture, Water, Animal and Fisheries Resources, Commander Isma«l Sombie, has initiated dredging operations on dams No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, and Boulmiougou. This project, launched on Friday in Ouagadougou, aims to mitigate flood risks and enhance the drinking water supply for the residents of the Burkinabe capital. The launch event was attended by other government officials, municipal representatives, and customary leaders.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the dredging works are a crucial part of the government's strategy to address frequent flooding issues and ensure water security in the region. The initiative reflects a commitment to safeguarding infrastructure and improving living conditions by maintaining and enhancing the capacity of these critical water reservoirs.
