Gourma: The Burkina Faso Mining Participation Company (SOPAMIB-Boungou) handed over a substantial batch of materials and equipment valued at 9,405,000 CFA francs to the Faso Mªbo Agency of Fada N'Gourma. The donation was made to support ongoing public works on the site.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the handover ceremony took place on Friday, July 31, 2026, and was led by Ram Joseph Kafando, the governor of the Goulmou region. The event was attended by several administrative and military authorities, as well as top officials from SOPAMIB-Boungou, including Bassoma Aboubacar Traor©.
The donation includes two 30 m³ trucks of granite, two 30 m³ trucks of sand, 40 tons of cement, 20 wheelbarrows, 50 shovels, molds for paving stones, 100 pairs of leather gloves, 100 protective helmets, safety glasses, and various other equipment. These are intended to enhance the operational capabilities of the Faso Mªbo Agency.
In addition to the material support, more than 100 agents from SOPAMIB-Boungou took part in general interest work at the Faso Mªbo Agency site. Alongside other volunteers, they contributed to making paving stones, demonstrating their company's commitment to development initiatives.
Bassoma Aboubacar Traor©, representing SOPAMIB-Boungou, noted that the donation and the mobilization of the company's agents reflect the company's desire to support development initiatives and contribute to national construction efforts.
Governor Ram Joseph Kafando commended the gesture as highly patriotic and congratulated SOPAMIB-Boungou for its support and strong mobilization. He encouraged other mining companies, private businesses, and key stakeholders in the region to follow this example to support the actions of the Faso Mªbo Agency.
Officials from the Faso Mªbo Agency expressed their gratitude to SOPAMIB-Boungou for the donation and for the commitment of its agents, which will help accelerate the construction of infrastructure on the Fada N'Gourma site.
