Burkina Faso Media Professionals Honored for Dedication and Service


OUAGADOUGOU – The Higher Communication Council (CSC) of Burkina Faso honored several media professionals for their dedication and service to the nation. The ceremony, which took place on Friday, December 29, 2023, in Ouagadougou, recognized 41 individuals in the media sector.



According to Burkina Information Agency, among the honorees were Assétou Badoh/Guiré, the General Director of Les Editions Sidwaya, and three of her colleagues. These include Jean Marie Toé, Editorial Director, Alban Kini, former Director of the AIB and currently a member of the Editorial Committee, and Jean-Pierre Boussim, AIB correspondent in Zabré (Boulgou, Center-East).



Ms. Badoh was appointed an officer of the Order of the Stallion, while her colleagues were elevated to the rank of knight of the Order of Merit of Arts, Letters, and Communication, focusing on print media and broadcasting. The Director General expressed gratitude for this recognition, dedicating the honor to various groups including her late father, missing colleagues, the Fighting Forces, and her supportive loved ones.



Jean Marie Toé, Alban Kini, and Jean-Pierre Boussim also expressed their joy and gratitude for the recognition. They committed to continuing their dedicated service in their respective roles. Toé emphasized the pride and responsibility that come with such a distinction, dedicating it to his colleagues and the wider team at Editions Sidwaya. Kini and Boussim similarly dedicated their honors to their colleagues, families, and those who have supported them in their careers, acknowledging the increased responsibility that comes with such recognition.
