Burkina Faso Mªbo: The Current AU Chairperson Praises an “Inspiring and Instructive” Program

Ouagadougou: The current Chairman of the African Union (AU) and President of the Republic of Burundi, General Evariste Ndayishimiye, visited the main production site of the Faso Mªbo Agency in Ouagadougou on Monday, where he described Captain Ibrahim Traore's initiative as both inspiring and instructive.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the AU Chairperson expressed his admiration for the program initiated by Captain Ibrahim Traore, highlighting its role in fostering unity among citizens. General Evariste Ndayishimiye emphasized the importance of such initiatives in bringing people together around common projects, which he sees as foundational for peace and development.

The Burundian President also drew parallels with a similar initiative in Burundi, which successfully led to the construction of schools, health centers, hospitals, and even a 17,000-seat stadium. He expressed his encouragement for the people of Burkina Faso to continue progressing with their initiatives.

Commander Ahmed Sakande, Director General of the Faso Mªbo Agency, regarded the visit as both an honor and a testament to the effectiveness of President Traore's call for African self-reliance. The visit included a briefing on the agency's missions, values, and progress on various projects.

The Burundian President announced plans to send a mission from Burundi to learn from Burkina Faso's autonomous development strategies. Established as an agency on January 22, 2026, Faso Mªbo began as a presidential initiative aimed at urban development through community engagement.

During his visit, General Evariste Ndayishimiye also planned to meet with the President of the AES Confederation, Captain Ibrahim Traore, and tour socio-economic infrastructure in Ouagadougou.
