Burkina Faso Introduces Fees for Issuance of Association Document Duplicates

OUAGADOUGOU — The government of Burkina Faso has adopted a new decree on Wednesday that introduces fees for the issuance of duplicates of official recognition documents for associations, as well as for the provision of copies of their background files and other statistical information.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Ministry responsible for public freedoms will now charge fees for certain services, including the issuance of duplicates of official recognition documents and copies of background files or statistical information pertaining to associations. The government states that this measure aims to generate additional revenue for the State budget by monetizing these services.

The same source explains that the decree is part of a broader effort to expand the revenue base by updating the code that governs the collection of fees for services provided by the ministry. Additionally, the decree introduces fines for associations that fail to maintain regular records or do not declare renewals within the legal deadlines.
