Burkina Faso Inaugurates New Industrial Unit to Boost National Economy

Ouagadougou: "The country's development will come from our ability to build a strong economy, guided by a firm political will," declared the Minister of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts, Serge Poda, during the inauguration of the new SN-BRAFASO industrial unit by President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Mr. Poda highlighted the importance of building a self-sufficient economy based on national resources rather than relying on conditional aid or imports. He emphasized the need for unity and strong political will to achieve economic growth.

Mr. Poda cited SN-BRAFASO as a testament to the government's vision, which is rooted in patriotism and conviction, driving a progressive dynamic aimed at benefiting the people. He stated that the establishment of this factory signifies Burkina Faso's departure from dependency and monopolies that hinder economic sovereignty.

SN-BRAFASO's Breweries compartment has an annual capacity of 600,000 hectolitres and is introducing two key products, BRAF'OR and BRAFASO, with plans to diversify into sweets and water. The project, funded entirely by national resources, represents an investment of approximately 21 billion CFA francs for its breweries phase and is expected to generate numerous direct and indirect jobs.

Since Captain Ibrahim Traore assumed power in September 2022, Burkina Faso has been on a path of industrialization, marked by the opening of several industrial units.
