OUAGADOUGOU — On Wednesday, the Council of Ministers authorized a semi-mechanized gold mining permit for the company Birba Hamidou Et Frères. The mining operation, based in the commune of Ourgou-Manega in Oubritenga province, is projected to contribute significantly to the state budget and local development.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this venture will yield 75,479,040 CFA francs for the state and 11,612,160 CFA francs for the local Mining Fund over four years. The ten-hectare site will focus on processing existing mining waste from the Yako site, with an expected gold yield of 32.256 kilograms.
