Burkina Faso Government Launches New Framework to Enhance Social Dialogue

OUAGADOUGOU — The Burkina Faso government introduced a new framework for public-private consultation on Wednesday, aimed at revitalizing social dialogue within the country. This new structure, known as the Public-Private Consultation Framework (CC-PP), replaces the former Consultation and Orientation Framework for State/Private Sector Dialogue (CODESP), signaling a strategic shift towards more dynamic and structured interactions between public authorities and private entities.

According to Burkina Information Agency, chaired by President Ibrahim Traoré, the CC-PP is designed to foster continuous dialogue between the public and private sectors. The framework is structured into three main components: the Regional Public-Private Consultations (CR-PP), the Public-Private Sectoral Consultations (CS-PP), and the National Government/Private Sector Meeting (RGSP). These bodies are intended to facilitate more effective communication and collaborative problem-solving across different levels and sectors. The initiative comes as a replacement for the CODESP, which was established on October 15, 2018, and served as a platform for addressing barriers to the country’s economic and social development.
