Burkina Faso Government Introduces ‘e-Dimaakia’ to Streamline Airline Ticket Purchases

Ouagadougou: The government of Burkina Faso has unveiled a new digital platform named "e-Dimaakia," aimed at regulating the purchase of airline tickets within the public administration. The launch was officially conducted by the Minister of Economy and Finance, Aboubakar Nacanabo, who highlighted the platform's potential to secure and optimize ticket procurement processes.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the "e-Dimaakia" platform incorporates an electronic auction system that promotes fair competition among accredited travel agencies. This initiative is aligned with the government's broader objectives to modernize public management and enhance transparency in expenditure procedures.

Minister Nacanabo emphasized that "e-Dimaakia" is designed to boost transparency, improve traceability in operations, and streamline processing times for documents associated with official missions. He noted that the platform represents a shift in administrative governance, moving away from previously inefficient practices.

The development of "e-Dimaakia" was credited to national expertise, crafted by the Ministry of Digital Transition, Posts, and Electronic Communications. Minister Nacanabo praised this local achievement, underscoring the country's capacity to create solutions tailored to its specific needs.

He called on all stakeholders in the public procurement process to adopt the platform, aiming to use it as a tool for enhancing performance and promoting good governance in managing public resources. The term 'Dimaakia' translates to 'ticket' in the Gourounsi language, reflecting the platform's focus.
