Burkina Faso Government Honors Combat Forces During New Year Celebration

OUAGADOUGOU: A government delegation, led by the Minister Delegate for the Budget, Aminata Bako/Traoré, marked New Year’s Eve 2025 by spending time with combat forces and war-wounded individuals in Ouagadougou. The visit aimed to convey the gratitude of the Burkinabe people for the efforts made to ensure national security.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Minister Delegate expressed the government’s appreciation, stating, “We have come to express to you the gratitude of the entire government and that of the people of Burkina Faso for all the efforts and sacrifices that you have made to push back the frontiers of evil.” The delegation acknowledged the bravery and determination of the forces, emphasizing that their actions have facilitated the return of many compatriots to their villages.

The government representatives visited various military and security institutions, including the Brigade of Volunteers for the Defense of the Fatherland, the Command of Operations of the National Theater, the Gen
eral Directorate of the Police, and the National Gendarmerie. During these visits, they reiterated their encouragement and solidarity with all forces engaged in the territorial reconquest.

Additionally, the delegation visited the military hospital in the Sangoulé Lamizana camp to assess the health of war-wounded soldiers. The members expressed their wishes for a swift recovery to those receiving treatment.

The government team included ministers responsible for the Digital Economy, Aminata Zerbo/Sabané, and Youth, Roland Somda, along with delegate ministers Aminata Bako/Traoré (Budget), Amadou Dicko (Animal Resources), and Eldine Kabré/Kaboré (Regional Cooperation).
