Burkina Faso Government Establishes Body to Verify Civil Servants’ Diplomas

Ouagadougou: The Burkina Faso government has announced the formation of a new body tasked with verifying the authenticity of civil servants' diplomas. This development follows the adoption of a decree during the Council of Ministers meeting on Thursday, which reorganizes the ministry responsible for the Civil Service. The decree marks the creation of the Technical Secretariat for the control of the authenticity of diplomas and professional capacity certificates of public agents, known as ST-ADT/AP.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the decree revises a previous regulation from November 27, 2024. It also introduces a Regional Directorate of the Civil Service, Labour and Social Protection (DRFPTPS) for each of the country's 17 regions. This new directorate results from the merger of the existing Regional Directorate of the Civil Service and the Regional Directorate of Labour and Social Protection.

Additionally, the decree establishes the role of Deputy Regional Director of the Civil Service, Labour and Social Protection. In a further reorganization, the Directorate for the Control of Hygiene, Safety, and Occupational Health is now renamed as the Directorate for the Control of Hygiene and Occupational Health within the Occupational Health Inspectorate.

Moreover, the decree includes the creation of a protocol service to enhance administrative processes within the ministry.
