Burkina Faso Government Engages Léraba Province in Social Cohesion Efforts Amid Security Concerns


SINDOU, LÉRABA — On Friday, August 30, 2024, a high-level government delegation led by the Minister of State and Minister of Veterans, Kassoum Coulibaly, engaged with various social groups and key community figures in the province of Léraba to discuss national security issues and social cohesion strategies.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the visit aimed to foster a closer relationship between the national government and the Léraba community, addressing pressing security concerns. Minister Coulibaly, joined by Minister of the Environment Roger Baro and Minister Delegate of Finance and the State Budget Fatoumata Bako, emphasized the need for local cooperation in establishing security measures, specifically the construction of defensive trenches at strategic locations.



During the meeting, community leaders, including village chiefs and representatives from the provincial citizen watch and civil society organizations, engaged directly with the government representatives to gain a clearer understanding of the country’s insecurity challenges and the proposed responses.



The discussions concluded with local leaders affirming their support for the security initiatives endorsed by the Head of State, demonstrating a unified commitment to enhancing safety and stability in Léraba.
