Burkina Faso Government Approves Exceptional Promotions for Non-Commissioned Officers

Ouagadougou: The government of Burkina Faso has authorized the exceptional promotion of deserving non-commissioned officers to the rank of second lieutenant, as adopted in the Council of Ministers on Thursday. This ordinance establishes unique conditions for appointing officers within the National Armed Forces.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the government stated that this order is designed to promote certain career non-commissioned officers who have proven their command capabilities in operational theaters. These officers must fulfill specific requirements, especially regarding their length of service.

The government believes that the adoption of this order will effectively address the need for strengthening the command and supervision capacities of units deployed in operational fields. Burkina Faso has been combating a persistent terrorist threat for several years. This situation has kept the National Armed Forces in a continuous state of engagement, requiring ongoing enhancement of command and training capacities for units deployed in various operational theaters.
