Burkina Faso Government Approves Amendment to Finance Law to Address Current Challenges


OUAGADOUGOU — The government of Burkina Faso has approved a revision of the current finance law to address new initiatives and emerging challenges. The decision was announced following the Council of Ministers’ meeting on September 19, 2024, where officials reviewed the nation’s budget execution and identified the need for adjustments.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the proposed amendments aim to enhance social protection for human capital and promote the country’s industrialization efforts. Specific measures include tax exemptions for the production of locally grown cereals such as wheat, corn, and sorghum, which are intended to boost local agricultural production and support food security.
