Burkina Faso Gifts Yennega Stallion to Niger at National Digital Week


NIAMEY – During the closing ceremony of the inaugural National Digital Week held in Niamey, Burkina Faso presented a Yennega Stallion to Niger as a symbol of fraternity. The event, which started on April 18, was staged at the Mahatma Gandhi International Conference Center and explored the theme “Digital and sovereignty”.



According to Burkina Information Agency, Minister of Digital Transition, Posts and Electronic Communications for Burkina Faso, the stallion was given as a symbolic gift to the “brother people” of Niger. Zerbo/Sabane represented Burkina Faso’s Head of State Ibrahim Traoré at the event.



The ceremony also saw reciprocal gestures of goodwill, with Sidi Mohamed Raliou, the Nigerien Minister of Communication, Posts and the Digital Economy, presenting gifts to Minister Zerbo and to Alhamdou Ag Ilyene, the Malian Minister of Communication, Digital Economy and Modernization of Administration.



The Digital Week in Niamey attracted over 2,500 attendees, including representatives from the Alliance of Sahel States and China, highlighting its significance as a regional hub for digital innovation.
