186 trainee customs officers received their certificate of special initial military training on September 27 at the Armed Forces Training Group (GIFA) in Bobo-Dioulasso, with a view to contributing to the fight against terrorism.
There are a total of 186 trainee customs officers made up of 10 inspectors, 34 controllers and 142 assistants who were trained in the handling of weapons, combat, first aid and many other disciplines at the GIFA in Bobo-Dioulasso during a ceremony on September 27, 2023, reports the daily Sidwaya in its publication of Tuesday October 3, 2023.
The delegate of the promotion, Arouna Néré, reassured that the trainees have assimilated the lessons and are ‘steeped in military discipline, experiences and are ready to defend the integrity of our territory even at the price of supreme sacrifice’.
These trainee customs officers from the Central African Republic, Chad and Burkina Faso joined the Armed Forces Training Group (GIFA) in Bobo-Dioulasso on August 1, 2023 .
For the GIFA command
er, Battalion Chief Ives Bambara, the training aimed to instill in them a military spirit, to toughen them up and improve their physical skills.
According to Mr. Bambara, these objectives were achieved through a ‘training program characterized by the diversification of its content and carried out by executives steeped in experience’.
