TITAO: Burkina Faso is making significant strides in its battle against terrorism, according to General Célestin Simporé, the Minister of State and Minister in charge of Defense. In a recent visit to Titao, he emphasized the effectiveness of the Combatant Forces, the leadership of the Head of State, and the commitment of the Burkinabe people as key factors in overcoming the terrorist threat.
According to Burkina Information Agency, General Simporé’s remarks came during a tour of the cities of Kongoussi, Titao, and Djibo, as part of the Independence Day celebrations with the country’s fighting forces. Accompanied by a government delegation that included the Minister of Security, Mahamoudou Sana, the Minister in charge of Health, Dr. Robert Lucien Marie Kargougou, the Minister of Education, Sosthène Dingara, and the Chief of Staff of the Presidency of Faso, Captain Céleste Anderson Medah, General Simporé highlighted the importance of resources and strategic unity in achieving “tangible results” against the ene

“The enemy continues to act, but it seems to be the last gasps, the final gestures of a snake that is being slain,” Simporé stated, urging the troops to maintain their efforts with unity and complementarity. He commended the forces for their achievements, particularly in ensuring the supply of essential goods to Titao and Djibo, areas that have faced significant nutritional stress.
Simporé also noted the critical role played by the Burkinabe military in transporting administrative staff to these regions, emphasizing that their actions symbolize the nation’s independence. Security Minister Mahamoudou Sana echoed this sentiment, praising the troops for their resilience in keeping Djibo under national control despite longstanding threats from the country’s adversaries.
In a call for vigilance, Sana urged the armed forces to guard against disinformation campaigns aimed at Burkina Faso. Captain Céleste Anderson Medah further lauded the troops, attributing the positive morale in Djibo to their efforts and en
couraging them to take pride in their accomplishments.
The delegation assured the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) that their concerns would be addressed and engaged in dialogue with the active forces in Titao and Djibo, reinforcing the government’s support for their ongoing mission.
