Burkina Faso Civil Society Organization Pledges Support for Sahel Alliance States

OUAGADOUGOU — The Movement to Stop the Deportation of Wars on Our Territories, during a press conference in Ouagadougou, announced its initiative to support the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) through various communication, education, and information actions.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Dr. Alexis Kam, the organization aims to vocally denounce the involvement of foreign forces in destabilizing the nations within the AES. Dr. Kam emphasized the importance of these actions in reinforcing the political stances of the AES states’ leaders on a grassroots level. He outlined plans for a comprehensive policy that involves on-ground activities to inform and educate the public, which he believes will bolster the region’s stability and development.

Dr. Kam highlighted the recent government successes in reclaiming control and stability in the region, motivating the Movement to ensure that the local populations recognize the efforts of their authorities both in administration and on the ground. He announced upcoming tours across all regions to establish the Movement’s presence and facilitate public engagement in understanding the development status of AES countries.

The coordinator also called on the youth of Burkina Faso and other AES countries to actively support their leaders to foster the envisioned future of Africa. The Movement has previously contributed to societal benefits such as providing free university registration for certain students, reinforcing its established role in regional development.
