Ouagadougou: The ‘€š¬…¡¬‚¬¦¡¬‚¬Å¡¬¦¡¬°vang©lique GrSce et Victoire’ church has made a significant contribution to the Central Directorate of Social Action for the Wounded in Operations by donating over 7 million FCFA to assist the widows and orphans of combatants who died defending the nation.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this act of solidarity took place during a dinner event named “La Kupa” on March 9, 2025. The Evangelical Temple “Grace and Victory” (TEGV), with the collaboration of its partners, presented a check amounting to 6 million 350 thousand FCFA. Additionally, the donation included three 25 kg bags of rice, fifteen 3-liter cans of oil, and ten boxes of soap balls, all cumulatively valued at more than 7 million FCFA.
Pastor Dr. Elie Koumbem of TEGV emphasized the importance of supporting those left behind by the fallen combatants, stating, “People lose their lives so that we can live and carry out our activities. Therefore, it is an obligation for us, the living, to express our gratitude by providing care and assistance to those they left behind.” He acknowledged that while the contribution might seem modest, the key is to make a consistent effort to aid the beneficiaries of “these silent heroes.”
Colonel-Major Si© R©mi Kambou, the central director of social action for the wounded in operations, expressed appreciation for the church’s support. He noted that the gesture will aid the State in managing the needs of the affected families and urged continued solidarity in supporting the widows and orphans of the combatants.
