Burkina Faso Choir Releases Album to Advocate for Peace

Ouagadougou: The women’s choir of the Assemblies of God church “Wendsongr©” has unveiled their album titled “Victoire,” which features six tracks dedicated to worship and the appeal for peace in Burkina Faso. The album was released on Sunday, marking a significant moment for the choir as they seek divine intervention for the country’s tranquility.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the choir leader, Rachel Ou©draogo/Ou©draogo, explained that the album’s title, “Victoire,” reflects the belief that victory is derived from God. The lead track, “Laafi Burkina yinga,” specifically focuses on the aspiration for peace to return to Burkina Faso. The choir’s efforts are not only to seek peace but also to praise the Lord and encourage believers to maintain their faith in the “Creator of Humanity.”



The choir’s spokesperson emphasized the attributes of God as one of peace, love, and fidelity, underscoring the spiritual message intended to be conveyed through their music. The album also acknowledges the authorities and security forces combating insecurity, while exploring themes concerning family, marriage, and community life within the church.



Pastor Jean Baptiste Savadogo expressed his satisfaction with the women’s dedication to their project, praising God for the successful launch of the album, which aligns with the teachings of the Lord. Pastor Enoch Ou©draogo, President of the Kilwin Regional Council, commended the women’s commitment to God’s ministry and prayed for their continued strength and inspiration for future musical productions.



The album “Victoire” is available for purchase at the Assemblies of God church “Wendsongr©” in Tampouy, offered in both audio and video formats across various media for 5,000 FCFA. The album includes additional tracks titled ‘Zab n tµoge’, ‘Yalsi k«nk«’, ‘Bao Wennam solom’, ‘Bark puusgo’, and ‘Yikaadm’.
