Ouagadougou: "We call on the population to maintain the active dynamic of co-producing security," said the Chief of Staff of the Minister of Security, Divisional Police Commissioner W. Emmanuel Zongo, emphasizing that security cannot be ensured solely by the security forces.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Chief of Staff made these remarks during a press conference where he presented the results of Operation 'WIBGA.' The operation highlighted the importance of collaboration between the Internal Security Forces, the Defense Forces, and the public.
The Chief of Staff elaborated that the first line of defense begins with individuals ensuring their own safety in everyday life. He urged the public to adhere to safety measures such as respecting the Highway Code and avoiding risky behaviors and areas.
Operation 'WIBGA,' which aimed to secure populations and their property during the end-of-year holidays, was conducted from December 15, 2025, to January 15, 2026. It covered the entire national territory and involved all Defense and Security Forces.
The Chief of Staff stressed the need to maintain the positive momentum in co-producing security. He called for strengthening the collaboration already observed and intensifying information sharing to enhance security efforts.
