Burkina Faso Cadet Stallions Ready for CAN U17 After Successful MRI Tests

Rabat: The Burkina Faso Cadet Stallions in Morocco have all passed the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) stage without any problems and are ready to compete in the CAN in their category which takes place from March 30 to April 19 in the Cherifian kingdom. "Our U17 Stallions, who are in Morocco for the continental competition preparation camp, have taken a crucial step towards the U17 AFCON. Following MRI tests carried out on site in Morocco, all of our young talents are eligible for the competition," the Burkinabe Football Federation announced on its Facebook page.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the FBF added that this is "good news that strengthens our ambitions and rekindles the hope of seeing our cadets shine on the African stage. The objective is clear: the U17 CAN (the trophy: editor's note) and qualification for the World Cup."

The Cadet Stallions have been in Morocco for nearly 10 days, taking part in a training camp. They've played three friendly matches, winning two and losing one. Oscar Barro's side first lost to the Moroccan Cadet team (1-0) before gaining momentum. They then beat the Moroccan U16s (2-1) before defeating Uganda U17s by a score of 3 goals to 2. A positive result which will lead the Burkinabe team towards its objective which is to win the competition and obviously open the doors to the World Cup.

Burkina Faso is in Group B alongside South Africa, Cameroon, and Egypt. The U17 AFCON will be played from March 30 to April 19, 2025, in Morocco.
