Casablanca: The Burkina Faso Cadet Stallions had a thorough warm-up on Tuesday at the Raja Athletic Club Academy in Casablanca, ahead of Thursday’s clash with Egypt, in the second day of the final stages of the U17 Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco 2025, in Group B.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this warm-up session, led by coach Oscar Barro, was a recovery session for those who had enough playing time yesterday, and a strengthening session for the substitutes. The coaching staff led the various sessions in a friendly atmosphere.
The second part of the session was devoted to analyzing the playing system of the next opponent, Egypt. This part provided an opportunity to work on the accuracy of shots in front of goal in the offensive phase and also on ball recovery in the defensive phase.
The actual training session to prepare for the match against the Young Pharaohs will take place tomorrow, the day before the match. It is after this training session that Burkinabe coach Barro will put his team in place to counter the Egyptians at the Laarbi Zaouli stadium at 5 p.m. UT.
If Burkina Faso wins against Egypt, it will advance to the next round and, more importantly, will qualify for the next World Cup in the category in Qatar. With 3 points (+1), Burkina Faso occupies 2nd place in Group B behind South Africa (3 pts +1). Cameroon and Egypt are 3rd and 4th, respectively.
