Ouagadougou: The Sagltaaba Association for the Development of Women and Girls (ASEFF) has made a substantial contribution to the families of fallen fighters in Burkina Faso by donating 14 tons of rice and a financial aid of 2 million FCFA to support peace efforts. This generous donation was handed over to the widows and orphans of those who sacrificed their lives for the nation, as well as vocational training scholarships and other forms of assistance.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Central Directorate for Social Action for the Wounded in Operations (DCAS-BO) received the donation, which is valued at 10 million FCFA. This includes not only the 14 tons of rice but also a 2 million FCFA fund earmarked for peace initiatives. The ASEFF has further committed to offering installation kits and psychological support to 10 young girls facing difficulties, whom they will also provide with professional training.
Noëlie Ouédraogo, the president of ASEFF, stated that this initiative serves as a gesture of
solidarity and tribute to the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Fatherland (VDP) who have fallen in the line of duty. “The members of the association wanted to make their contribution to the fight against terrorism, especially by supporting the widows and orphans of the FDS and VDP who fell on the battlefields for the reconquest of our dear homeland,” she declared.
Ms. Ouédraogo also urged every citizen of Burkina Faso to demonstrate solidarity with the fighters whose sacrifices enable the country to remain standing. She emphasized that all forms of support, whether material, financial, or moral, are essential for restoring peace in Burkina Faso.
The chief of staff of the Minister in charge of Defense, Ollo Alain Palé, conveyed gratitude on behalf of the minister and the military hierarchy, expressing appreciation for ASEFF’s support. “The vocational training of some widows and orphans of combatants, followed by the delivery of installation kits, goes straight to ou
r hearts,” he said. He further encouraged all Burkinabè to continue their support for the forces fighting for the liberation of the country.
Founded in 2002 and officially recognized in 2005, the Sagltaaba Association is dedicated to the development of women and all Burkinabè, focusing particularly on providing healthcare and educational scholarships to the most disadvantaged.
