Burkina Faso Association Praised for Educating 100 Vulnerable Children

OUAGADOUGOU: The Secretary General of the Government and the Council of Ministers, Mathias Traoré, praised the Fiil-SS association for its significant contribution to education by enabling 100 children from vulnerable backgrounds to attend school. This commendation occurred during a ceremony at Le Petit Bosquet school in Ouagadougou. According to Burkina Information Agency, the commendation came as part of the school's annual ceremony to distribute matriculation numbers to students, marking the commencement of the 2024-2025 academic year. The children benefiting from this initiative include those from families of fallen security forces (FDS) and Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), as well as children of internally displaced persons. "The initiative of the Fiil-PS association is an example that should inspire us. It calls for collective awareness and commitment to the victims of this crisis," Mathias Traoré stated at the event. He further reiterated the government's commitment to ensuring that all children, particularly those from displaced and destitute families, have equitable access to education. Since its establishment in 2015, Fiil-PS has focused on addressing the needs of vulnerable populations. This year, the association intensified its efforts, successfully enabling 100 vulnerable children to go to school. The association also expressed gratitude towards its partners, whose support has been crucial in making these educational opportunities possible.
