Burkina Faso Army Strikes Kill Terrorists in Yatenga Province

OUAHIGOUYA, Burkina Faso – In a significant military operation on Friday, February 9, 2024, the Burkinabè army executed targeted strikes against terrorist groups in the locality of Séné-Todiam, Yatenga province, resulting in multiple casualties among the insurgents. The operation, taking place north of Ouahigouya in Séné-Todiam, marked a new victory for the Combatant Forces against terrorist factions that have plagued the region.

According to Burkina Information Agency, security sources reported that the army's action was in response to terrorist activities in the abandoned area of Séné-Todiam. Groups of terrorists, arriving on motorcycles, had taken control of several buildings in the area. Utilizing aerial surveillance, the military closely monitored the movements of these groups, particularly focusing on a building where a large gathering of militants was observed.

The decisive moment came when a missile, launched from an aerial platform, struck the building, effectively destroying the room where the militants were congregated. The sudden attack caused panic among the terrorists, who fled the scene, abandoning their comrades amidst the chaos.

The Burkinabè military's operation in Séné-Todiam underscores the ongoing efforts for territorial reconquest and the determination to eradicate terrorist elements from the region.
