The nation’s pilots are reportedly “ready” to conduct aerial offensives and counter-offensives, marking a significant step in the country’s ongoing counter-terrorism efforts.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this development represents a “significant reinforcement” of Burkina Faso’s military capabilities, although the exact number of pilots prepared for combat was not disclosed. Over the past weekend, the armed forces were engaged in intense battles against terrorist contingents in various regions, including Pensa, Natiaboani, Kongoussi, Ouahigouya, and Tankoualou. Notably, in the eastern region of Tankoualou, response missiles launched from the air were instrumental in neutralizing terrorists amassed at the entrance to a local military base.
