OUAGADOUGOU: Following the adoption of the Amending Finance Law of the Initial Finance Law for the execution of the State Budget, financial year 2024, the deputies of the Transitional Legislative Assembly (ALT), meeting in plenary session on Tuesday, October 15, adopted the second law on their agenda, ratifying a financing agreement signed on September 26, 2024 between Burkina Faso and the International Development Association (IDA), for the financing of the human capital protection project (PPCH). According to Burkina Information Agency, the project, supported by a substantial financial injection from the World Bank amounting to over 60.807 billion CFA francs, aims to bolster Burkina Faso's health and education sectors. Dr. Aboubakar NACANABO, the Minister of Economy and Finance, highlighted that the initiative will enhance the Free Health Care Program, improve hospital services, and support routine vaccination efforts across the country. Furthermore, the project will enhance educational opportunities by p romoting access to essential educational services. This includes the organization of school exams and competitions such as the baccalaureate. Additionally, it aims to improve the training and educational monitoring of teachers, ensuring a higher standard of education and better outcomes for students.
