OUAGADOUGOU — The head of government of Burkina Faso, Dr. Apollinaire Kyélem de Tambèla, met with the United Nations Development Program's resident representative, Alfredo Teixeira, on Monday to discuss the nation's priorities for strengthening their collaborative efforts.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the discussion centered on aligning the UNDP’s areas of intervention with the government's priorities to optimize cooperation. The UNDP is actively supporting Burkina Faso in implementing its stabilization and development action plan, which includes presidential initiatives aimed at boosting agro-silvo-pastoral and fisheries production.
Teixeira further noted that the UNDP’s support extends to critical sectors such as energy, environment, climate change, and the dematerialization of processes. Emphasizing the need for tailored support, Teixeira highlighted the importance of understanding Burkina Faso’s specific needs amidst diverse challenges. He also mentioned planned meetings with the Minister of Finance and other key government members to continue discussions on strategic areas of collaboration.
