Burkina Faso and Turkey Strengthen Diplomatic Ties with New Ambassador Appointment

Ouagadougou: Her Excellency Mrs. Feriba HOKKACI ESIRGEN, the newly accredited Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Burkina Faso, has officially presented her credentials to the Burkinabe authorities, marking a significant moment in the diplomatic relations between the two nations. The presentation took place during a formal meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation and Burkinabe Abroad.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Ambassador HOKKACI ESIRGEN, who arrived in the Burkinabe capital on May 6, expressed her honor and gratitude for the opportunity to serve in Burkina Faso. She acknowledged the legacy of her predecessor in enhancing the cooperation between Turkey and Burkina Faso and committed to furthering these efforts. The ambassador emphasized the unexplored potential for cooperation between the two countries.

During the event, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation and Burkinabe Abroad, alongside the Minister Delegate for Regional Cooperation, extended a wa
rm welcome to the new ambassador. They expressed their hopes for her success in her mission within the country, known as the land of upright people.

The head of Burkinabe diplomacy highlighted the robust relationship between Ouagadougou and Ankara, noting Turkey’s status as a friendly country and strategic partner. He reiterated the strong cooperation existing in various sectors, including defense-security, health, trade, agriculture, and the environment, while also pointing out the opportunities to expand these ties further.
