Burkina Faso and Tunisia Sign Eight Cooperation Agreements to Enhance Bilateral Relations

Ouagadougou - Burkina Faso's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Karamoko Jean Marie Traoré, and his Tunisian counterpart, Nabil Ammar, have signed eight agreements to enhance cooperation across various sectors. These agreements were signed during the closing ceremony of the 8th session of the joint cooperation commission between the two nations.

According to Burkina Information Agency, these agreements aim to strengthen the legal framework for bilateral cooperation and cover areas such as technical education, industry, crafts, tourism, youth, and sports. The protocols will also facilitate experience sharing between the Burkinabè Investment Agency (ABI) and the External Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA-Tunisia). Discussions also included topics on industrial property, led by the Permanent Secretariat of the National Center for Industrial Property (SP-CNPI) and the National Institute for Standardization and Industrial Property (INNORPI). Additionally, they encompassed promotion of family, women's rights, children's rights, and the welfare of the elderly. Further talks will continue on security, civil protection, and risk management, with agreements expected to be finalized soon.

The next session of the Joint Cooperation Commission is scheduled for 2026 in Tunisia, further solidifying the ongoing partnership between the two countries.
