Burkina Faso and Saudi Arabia Strengthen Bonds Through Cooperative Development Projects

OUAGADOUGOU—Burkina Faso’s Minister in charge of regional cooperation, Stella Kabré/Kaboré, highlighted the enduring and exemplary relations of cooperation and fraternity between Burkina Faso and Saudi Arabia in a speech on Monday. This came during a reception in Ouagadougou marking the 94th National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where the longstanding partnership’s benefits, respecting both nations’ sovereignty, were celebrated.



According to Burkina Information Agency, Minister Kabré/Kaboré emphasized the successful collaborations since the initiation of diplomatic ties in 1965. These partnerships have been instrumental in launching numerous developmental projects in Burkina Faso, including improvements in water supply, agricultural infrastructure, and educational facilities. She praised the Kingdom for its consistent support during Burkina Faso’s ongoing humanitarian challenges.



Minister Kabré/Kaboré also highlighted shared views on terrorism, stressing the importance of mutual aid and international cooperation to combat the threat, particularly in resource-limited Sahel countries. The recent political and geopolitical dynamics in the Sahel underscore the urgent need for African nations to be principal actors in shaping their destinies, a vision supported by Saudi Arabia.



The celebration underscored a mutual commitment to respecting sovereignty while fostering developmental partnerships. Minister Kabré/Kaboré expressed gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s role in supporting Burkina Faso during these challenging times, signaling a fortified bilateral relationship that promises continued collaboration on various developmental fronts.
