Burkina Faso and Ghana Strengthen Ties with Ministerial Visit

Ouagadougou: The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, arrived in Ouagadougou today, accompanied by Ghana's Special Envoy to the African Economic Community and a large delegation. The Ghanaian delegation was warmly received at Ouagadougou International Airport by the Burkinabe Foreign Minister, His Excellency Karamoko Jean Marie Traore. According to Burkina Information Agency, the visit is part of the upcoming 13th Joint Cooperation Commission meeting between Burkina Faso and Ghana, scheduled for February 20, 2026. The ministerial meeting aims to formalize the conclusions of the October 2025 preparatory meeting of experts. Key outcomes of the meeting are expected to include the signing of several draft agreements and official documents, aimed at further boosting cooperation and strengthening the strong ties of friendship and fraternity between the two nations.
