Burkina Faso Allocates Over 37 Billion FCFA for Faso Technological Academy

Burkina faso: The Burkinabe government will allocate more than 37 billion FCFA to the first phase of the construction of the Faso Technological Academy, AIB learned on Wednesday. This structure, located in Pabre, will train engineers in strategic fields such as metallurgy, mechanics, energy, nuclear, aeronautics, civil engineering, chemistry, mining, digital, cybersecurity, and telecommunications.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the project to build the Technological Academy of Faso is part of the endogenous development vision advocated by the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore. It aims to strengthen the supply of educational infrastructure and to train locally an elite destined to contribute to the rebuilding of the State as well as to the social and economic prosperity of Burkina Faso.

Located on an area of approximately 60 hectares in the rural commune of Pabre, the Technological Academy of Faso falls under the Presidential Initiative for Quality Education for All (IPEQ). The first phase of the project, estimated at 37,369,648,089 CFA francs including tax, will notably allow for the completion of architectural and technical studies, and the monitoring and control of the works.

The funds will also be used for the construction of essential infrastructure, including an administration building, teaching blocks, lecture halls, a library, workshops and laboratories, a forge, an infirmary, and accommodation for students and teachers. A cafeteria, sports facilities, a student residence, recreational and parking areas, a waste treatment area, and a future expansion zone will also be built.
