The Minister in charge of Handicrafts, Serge Gnaniodem Poda, presented Friday in Ouagadougou, donations, collected by the Savane Médias Group, for the benefit of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).
“By initiating this activity on the sidelines of the biennial of African crafts and in order to guarantee it all the expected success, it seemed useful to us to have it carried by a personality (CEO of the Savane Médias Group)” declared the Minister in charge of Crafts, Serge Gnaniodem Poda.
He informed that “backed by his vast relational network both in Burkina Faso and outside the national borders, (the CEO of the Savane Media Group) was able to mobilize the daughters and sons as well as the friends of our country to make their contribution. to the war effort”.
Minister Poda was speaking on Friday in Ouagadougou, during the ceremony for the delivery of donations collected for the benefit of the Defense and Security Forces and Internally Displaced Persons.
The donations were collected on the sidelines of the International Crafts Fair of Ouagadougou (SIAO), held from January 27 to February 5, 2023. This was on the initiative of the Government in order to come to the aid of internally displaced persons and participate in the ‘war effort.
The donations consist of 25 motorbikes, gas vouchers worth 3 million CFA francs, 15 tons of food, 20 solar lamps and a sum of 71 million CFA francs.
For Mr. Poda, this is proof that despite the adversity facing our country, there are Burkinabè, men and women from diverse backgrounds who give hope by contributing significantly to the war effort.
He thanked the CEO of the Savane Médias group, El Hadj Aboubacar Zida dit Sidnaba, for his contribution to mobilizing resources to support the fighting forces and internally displaced persons in our country.
“It is with great honour, great pleasure that we receive this great sacrifice that has been made by them like other Burkinabè and the partners and we are happy about it. Rest assured that we will spare no effort to ensure that it is used wisely,” said Minister of State, Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs, Colonel Major Kassoum Coulibaly.
During the ceremony, the CEO of Savane Médias, El Hadj Aboubacar Zida known as Sidnaba, artistic sponsor of the 16th edition of SIAO received a trophy making him Ambassador of SIAO for African crafts.
