Burkina CSC and National Order of Physicians Unite to Combat Health Misinformation

Ouagadougou: The Higher Council for Communication (CSC) and the National Order of Physicians in Burkina Faso have entered into a partnership agreement aimed at enhancing communication regarding health-related issues. This agreement, signed on Monday, is designed to safeguard citizens against misinformation concerning health products and services.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the president of the CSC, Louis Modeste Ouédraogo, stated that the primary goal of the agreement is to ensure the public receives quality communication on health matters. Ouédraogo highlighted the potential dangers of misinformation, false promises, and misleading advertising, which can have severe consequences for citizens’ health. He emphasized the necessity for the information regulator to establish strong collaboration with health authorities, particularly the National Order of Physicians.
