Burkina: “BASGA Jo Academy” a newborn in the field of sport-study for Burkinabè

The Secretary General of the Association Basga Jo Sport (ABJS), Boukare Tarbagdo, presented on Sunday in Ouagadougou, “the Basga Jo Academy”, a project that includes studies and sport for the benefit young Burkinabè.

“The Basga-Jo Academy’s primary mission will be to strengthen the capacities of young people to develop and release their sporting genius within a structural framework”, declared the Secretary General of the Basga Jo Sport Association, Boukare Tarbagdo.

According to him, these ambitions must be maintained in a formal atmosphere organized around the promotion of sport and studies which are inseparable.

Boukare Tarbagdo spoke on Sunday July 23, 2023, during a press conference, within the Basga Jo Academy, located in Toudweogo in sector 39 of arrondissement 9 of Ouagadougou.

He said that the Academy is built on an area of 2.5 hectares. It will house, among other things, 2 regulatory football pitches, a hotel residence of R+5.

Tarbagdo also noted that there will be apartments, a crèche, a bakery, general and technical education establishments, a swimming pool and a public garden.

He continued that the 2023-2024 school year, the center will open its doors to accommodate boarders for the 6th grade classes which concern children aged 10 to 12 and the second for children aged 14 to 15.

According to him, the Center will welcome seventy-five (75) boarders who will be selected following a series of recruitment tests in the thirteen (13) regions of the country.

“These 75 boarders will be divided into minimal, junior and senior categories because we also plan to participate in FBF competitions, starting of course with the 3rd division like our predecessors with the club name BASGA FC”, he said. .

The secretary general of the ABJS noted that its structure has the mission of promoting sport, in particular basketball, volleyball, swimming, martial arts and football.

“The king sport (men’s and women’s football) will be the first activity to be launched in all its categories (minime, cadet and senior). All the documentation for affiliation has already been submitted to the authorized bodies and the association hopes to win its case during the next general meeting of the FBF scheduled for August,” he concluded.
