BOBO-DIOULASSO—Drivers from the Bureau of Mines and Geology of Burkina Faso (BUMIGEB) participated in a specialized training program on vehicle repair and maintenance from July 22 to 26, 2024, in Bobo-Dioulasso. The training, organized by FBC Office Sarl, focused on equipping drivers with the knowledge and skills necessary for the proper use and maintenance of motor vehicles.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the manager of FBC Office Sarl, the training aimed to provide an “effective and lasting” solution to the recurring mechanical breakdowns faced by motor vehicles in both public and private sectors. The training covered thermal engines and automobile suspension, offering both theoretical and practical lessons to the participants.

Sankara noted that frequent mechanical failures often lead to the temporary suspension or cancellation of activities within various administrations, negatively impacting performance and preventing the achievement of expected objectives. He also pointed out that these recurring breakdowns are not only financially burdensome but also contribute to traffic accidents.

Mamadou Nimi, the regional director of BUMIGEB in Bobo-Dioulasso, praised the initiative, stating that it will enable driver-mechanics to improve their service quality and handle vehicle repairs independently in the field when necessary. One of the participants, Henri Yameogo, expressed his appreciation for the training, noting that it significantly enhanced their understanding of vehicle engines and suspension systems.
