MEERUT — A building collapse in the Zakir residential colony of Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, has left around ten individuals trapped under debris, as rescue efforts continue.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Selva Kumari, the Commissioner of Meerut division, confirmed the incident, which occurred on Saturday. The collapse has prompted an immediate response from emergency services. “Police and firefighters are currently conducting rescue operations to assist those caught under the rubble,” stated Kumari.

The area has been cordoned off to facilitate the ongoing rescue efforts as teams work diligently to reach those affected. The cause of the collapse is under investigation, and further details are expected as the rescue progresses.
