Tripoli, The British Ambassador to Libya, Caroline Hurndall has renewed her country’s commitment to support efforts of the Presidential Council to achieve stability in the country, appreciating the position of the Council in support of the UN envoy’s plan to Libya in order to achieve national ownership and consensus leading to holding parliamentary and presidential elections before the end of this year.
This came during the meeting of the Head of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Manfi, with the British ambassador, Sunday, and discussed with her the latest developments of the political and security situation in Libya, according to the media office of the President of the Council.
According to the same source, the British ambassador briefed Al-Manfi on the ongoing arrangements for holding the next meeting of the 5 + 5 Joint Military Committee, following the transfer of the meetings of the joint presidency of the Security and Military Track Committee to the United Kingdom.
Al-Manfi on his part, reaffirmed the Presidential Council’s continued support for the work of the committee, which aims to consolidate the ceasefire and unify the military institution.
