OUAGADOUGOU — A mixed marching battalion successfully countered an ambush set up by terrorists in Boussou, Northern region, this Saturday.

According to a new release by Burkina Information Agency, the battalion was on an offensive reconnaissance mission when it encountered the terrorists.

On October 28, 2023, several dozen terrorists took the initiative to lay an ambush in Boussou, targeting the mixed marching battalion. After a period of combat, the battalion managed to force the enemy to retreat. Attack helicopters subsequently took action, neutralizing the dispersed terrorists who had sought cover in the trees.

Security sources emphasized that the only options remaining for terrorists are to either lay down their arms or face lethal consequences. Further operations are continuing on several fronts, the sources added.
