Poni: Students at the Gbonfr¨ra primary school in the commune of Bouroum-Bouroum are being made aware of road safety. The Bouroum-Bouroum Departmental Police Station held a road safety awareness session on Monday for students of the Gbonfr¨ra public primary school, with the aim of instilling good road traffic practices in the children. The ceremony was presided over by the police commissioner, Salou Maga, accompanied by his colleagues, in the presence of teaching staff and students mobilized for the occasion.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Commissioner Maga stated that this activity is part of the actions to prevent traffic accidents, particularly in schools. He stressed the need to introduce children, from a young age, to the basic rules of the road in order to reduce risky behavior. Addressing the students, he urged them to be cautious on public roads, to cross the road carefully, and to follow the instructions of adults and security forces. Commissioner Salou Maga added that adopting responsible behaviors contributes to building a more disciplined and safer society.
The session was marked by interactive exchanges during which learners asked questions and shared their experiences, thus reinforcing the educational dimension of the activity. The school principal, Luc Mamane Kambir©, welcomed the police station's initiative. He indicated that this action supports the efforts of teachers in the holistic education of students, recalling that the school also has a mission to train responsible citizens. Mr. Kambir© also urged the students to apply the advice received and to serve as awareness relays within their families. This activity is part of the ongoing prevention efforts undertaken by local authorities to contribute to the reduction of traffic accidents in the municipality of Bouroum-Bouroum.
