Boulsa: Fifty people from various socio-professional backgrounds in the province of Namentenga were introduced to the prevention and management of community conflicts through a training session organized by the Technical and Development Assistance Alliance (ATAD) and its partners, on January 22 and 23, 2026 in Boulsa, with a view to contributing to the reduction of community crises and conflicts.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the training session was chaired by the High Commissioner of the province of Namentenga, Adama Conseiga. The head of monitoring and evaluation of ATAD, Souleymane Ouedraogo, stated that the session aimed to strengthen the capacities of young people and women on the tools and means of prevention, mediation, and resolution of community conflicts.
Participants expressed that the knowledge acquired would enable them to identify the early warning signs of community conflicts. Ms. Sibdou Kafando/Zongo, one of the participants, committed to being an ambassador of peace in her living environment.
The trainer highlighted the use of a participatory approach, focusing on modules covering the typology of community conflicts, their manifestations, alternative methods of conflict resolution, and the qualities required for effective conciliation and mediation.
High Commissioner Adama Conseiga expressed gratitude to ATAD and its partners for their development actions benefiting the province of Namentenga. The training also included discussions on topics such as the situation of internally displaced persons without civil registration documents, psychosocial care for certain patients, and government opportunities for potential livestock farmers in cow's milk production.
