Boulgou/Zabre Town Hall Employees Share 2026 New Year Wishes with PDS

Bougouriba: The agents of the Zabre town hall presented their New Year's greetings to the prefect, president of the special delegation (PDS), Alain Boubie Bassono, during a ceremony held on Friday, April 10, 2026 in the old meeting room of the town hall.

According to Burkina Information Agency, for the second year in a row, the PDS received New Year's greetings from its staff in a friendly and fraternal atmosphere. Dressed in Faso Danfani, municipal employees, members of the special delegation, and administrative authorities, including the prefect of Zoaga, first lowered the colors at 4:30 p.m., marking the end of the workday, before gathering in the hall for the ceremony.

The town hall's secretary general, Sylvain Lezogo, set the context for the meeting: "This ceremony is an opportunity for a fraternal and friendly reunion, but also a framework for reviewing our activities and defining prospects for the future."

Looking back on the past year, he added: "The year 2025 was marked by numerous challenges and significant reforms, including daily monitoring of staff attendance and the introduction of a disciplinary board," before urging staff to adapt: "Those who have not yet understood the new dynamic must fall in line."

Speaking as the most senior staff member, Koura Boussim emphasized the importance of cohesion: 'Where there are people, nothing is perfect. May our imperfections in no way tarnish our community spirit and our determination to work for the development of our town.' He also expressed his gratitude to the leaders for their attentiveness and open-mindedness.

In his address, PDS Alain Boubie Bassono urged his colleagues to value their role: "Be proud to be municipal agents, because you serve the people at the grassroots level, and that is a privilege."

Emphasizing the need for rigor, he warned: 'Without administrative discipline, you won't last long in any organization, whether public or private.' He further called for greater commitment: 'The mayor's office is expected to deliver on its objectives.' Paraphrasing the head of state, Captain Ibrahim Traore concluded: 'We must change our approach, abandon bad practices, and resolutely get to work.'

The ceremony was marked by the presentation of certificates of recognition to three employees for their dedication: Honorine Zagre/Bationo (administrative services), Koura Boussim (civil registry), and Simplice Sawadogo (municipal police). "These certificates are for everyone, but they must be earned," the PDS stated.

The town hall employees also demonstrated their civic responsibility by posing for a group photo with receipts proving they had paid their taxes, thus reflecting their commitment to setting an example in fulfilling their civic duties.

A community meal concluded the ceremony in a spirit of togetherness.
