Boulgou: The municipal coordination of the citizen watch of Tenkodogo, commonly called “Wayiyans”, offered 39 bags of corn, 10 bags of rice, and a carton of oil to the 61st Commando Infantry Regiment (RIC). This donation, estimated at around 750,000 CFA francs, aims to boost the morale of the troops and show them that they have the full support of the population.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the municipal coordinator of citizen monitoring in the commune of Tenkodogo, Abass K©r©, stated that this initiative is a response to the call for solidarity from the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©. “This is how we invited the five villages of our commune to speak their hearts,” he declared before calling on “the daughters and sons of Tenkodogo to contribute to the communal coordination of citizen monitoring.”
The representative of the 61st RIC expressed his gratitude to the donors. “Just thinking about the men and women involved in the field is a great source of motivation,” he emphasized. The mission officer of the Presidency of Faso for the Centre-East region, Adaman Kambon©, also welcomed this new action by the Tenkodogo citizen watch. He took the opportunity to invite the populations of the eighty-seven (87) other villages to support the fighting forces.
