Boulgou/Komto¨ga: ONASER and UCO-JEK Collaborate to Promote Road Safety Awareness

Boulgou: The Komto¨ga Communal Youth Union (UCO-JEK), in partnership with the National Road Safety Office (ONASER), recently held a road safety awareness session at the D¨ga public primary school courtyard. This initiative was aimed at educating young people, students, and various community members about the importance of road safety.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the session featured a presentation by an ONASER agent who underscored the necessity of adhering to the highway code, highlighting its role in saving lives. The agent pointed out the alarming frequency of traffic accidents on National Route No. 17 (RN17), which lead to numerous fatalities, serious injuries, and traumas.

Abdoulaye Dabr©, the president of UCO-JEK, expressed his appreciation to ONASER for facilitating the awareness day. The event included interactive question and answer sessions that emphasized the importance of wearing helmets and practicing safe driving habits.

Participants praised the initiative, noting that it provided them with practical knowledge to prevent road accidents. As a token of encouragement, ONASER awarded prizes such as helmets, safety belts, and t-shirts to attendees who successfully answered the questions posed during the session.
