Bougouriba: The Bougouriba province recorded a 55.57% pass rate for the Junior High School Certificate (BEPC) exam, 2026 session, following the announcement of the second-round results on Sunday, June 14, in the province's six examination centers. This performance represents an increase of 6.22 percentage points compared to the previous year, when the pass rate was 49.35%.
According to Burkina Information Agency, after the announcement of the results of the first round on June 9, the eligible candidates took part in the control test, the results of which were made public on Sunday, June 14 in the juries of Dibougou 1, Dibougou 2, Dibougou 3, Bapla 1, Bondigui 1, and Tiankoura 1.
Statistics from the Provincial Directorate of Secondary Education, Vocational and Technical Training (DPESFPT) of Bougouriba show that 1,616 candidates, including 831 girls and 785 boys, were present for the exam. At the end of the first round, 633 candidates were declared successful, comprising 309 girls and 324 boys. Furthermore, 886 candidates, including 466 girls and 420 boys, were authorized to take part in the retake examination.
At the end of this second phase, 265 additional candidates obtained their diplomas, among them 121 girls and 144 boys. In total, the province recorded 898 admissions, including 430 girls and 468 boys, for an overall success rate of 55.57%.
This performance marks an improvement in BEPC results in the province. Compared to the 2025 session, where the pass rate was 49.35%, Bougouriba has achieved an increase of 6.22 points.
Several actors in the education system welcomed this development, which they attribute to the combined efforts of teachers, educational supervisors, parents of students, and administrative authorities committed to improving academic performance. These results reinforce the initiatives undertaken in the province to strengthen the quality of teaching and support for candidates in school examinations.
Education stakeholders now hope to consolidate this momentum in order to achieve better performance in the upcoming secondary school exam sessions.
