Bougouriba Municipality of Dolo Hosts Meeting on New Hydrocarbon Regulations

Bougouriba: The municipality of Dolo organized a significant meeting to raise awareness among stakeholders about the new regulations concerning the sale and transport of fuel. The session, held on June 5, 2026, aimed to convey the conditions mandated by the latest decree impacting the Dj´r´ region and to enhance public safety measures.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting was presided over by the prefect and president of the special delegation of Dolo. It saw the participation of service station managers, fuel resellers, mill and generator owners, along with other relevant users impacted by the regulation. The PDS emphasized the importance of compliance with decree no. 2026-006/MATM/RDJR/GVT-G/SG, highlighting the need to mitigate risks related to fire, accidents, and unauthorized fuel activities.

The meeting detailed the categories of beneficiaries who can obtain special authorization for purchasing and transporting fuel. Public and private organizations, NGOs, processing units, farms, mills, cooperatives, and retailers situated over five kilometers from a service station, as well as domestic generator owners, were identified as eligible.

Technical services from the town hall elaborated on the procedural aspects for acquiring permits. This included necessary documents, conditions for permit issuance by the High Commissioner, and the responsibilities borne by beneficiaries. Discussions addressed permissible fuel quantities, administrative document retention obligations, and penalties for breaches. Participants were reminded to buy fuel solely from authorized service stations and to maintain their permits diligently.

The engagement facilitated clarifications on participant concerns, enhancing understanding of the new regulations. The prefect reiterated the commitment of administrative and municipal authorities to assist users in adhering to these procedures, ensuring a rigorous enforcement to safeguard people and property in Dolo.
