Bougouriba: Having settled two years ago on a hill to the East of Diebougou, traditional medicine practitioner Aminata Kone, better known as Adja the healer, organized a ceremony on Saturday, November 22, 2025, to mark her anniversary of settling in and to express her gratitude to the people of Bougouriba.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event, held at her treatment center, brought together administrative and traditional authorities, as well as foreign delegations who came to offer their support. Adja expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome she has received since arriving in Diebougou.
"Since my arrival, I have not encountered any hostility. I felt it necessary to organize this ceremony to express my gratitude, to offer blessings at the start of the new year and to pray for peace in Burkina Faso. It was also an opportunity to present the certificates obtained during my two years of training in traditional medicine," she said.
Present at the ceremony, the chief of the land of Diebougou, His Majesty Sie Felix Ouattara, praised the impact of the healer's activities. "These two years have been beneficial for the people in terms of health and contribution to development. God has given her knowledge that has enabled her to treat many diseases and assist the poor, IDPs and many others. I invite the population to support her so that she can continue her work. I wish her excellent health and even more knowledge for the benefit of all in 2026," he said.
"Adja is doing work of general interest. She contributes to the care of the population so that they can enjoy good health. What she is doing is in line with the vision of the highest authorities of our country. We are here because we felt that she is working for the common good. Wherever this common good is at stake, the administration must be present to support and encourage," testified the High Commissioner of Bougouriba, Amidou Konate.
The ceremony was enhanced by the presence of figures from the world of traditional medicine and spiritual guides. Traditional medicine trainer Adama Lalabi urged the healer to continue her work for the benefit of the people. "Difficulties exist, but alleviating suffering and healing the sick are noble missions. She must be courageous, for there is no turning back," he added.
The cutting of the birthday cake marked the end of the ceremony, held in an atmosphere of gratitude, blessings, and hope for the coming year.
