Bougouriba Flag-Raising Ceremony Highlights Commitment to National Values

Bougouriba: The municipality of Iolonioro organized, this Monday, the monthly ceremony of raising the national colors in the grounds of the public primary school 'Iolonioro A', in the presence of constituted bodies, defense and security forces, teaching staff and students. Presided over by the Secretary General of the town hall, Naba Sou, the ceremony took place in an atmosphere of solemnity and reverence. At the raising of the flag, the national anthem, the Ditany¨, was sung in the Lobiri language by the students with remarkable fervor.

According to Burkina Information Agency, in his address, the presiding officer praised the mobilization of the various sectors of the community, which, he noted, reflected the importance placed on republican values. He reiterated that respecting the symbols of the State constitutes an act of civic engagement and a means of strengthening national unity. Mr. Sou emphasized the significance of honoring the national colors as a reaffirmation of commitment to the ideals of peace, solidarity, and social cohesion, inviting the people to make civic-mindedness and patriotism constant reference points in their daily behavior.

He also urged public officials and students to remain vectors of these values within their various environments, before wishing all participants a good return to services and a good start to the week. Established in several localities across the country, the monthly flag-raising ceremony aims to strengthen civic spirit and promote community cohesion. In Iolonioro, it is part of a process of local populations appropriating the symbols of the nation.
